Jaguar Land Rover today unveiled a new six-cylinder Ingenium gasoline engine designed and manufactured by the company's experts at its £ 1 billion engine manufacturing center in Wolverhampton, UK.


The new engine, which will be used for the first time in the Range Rover Sport, a 3-liter with two versions of 360 horsepower or 400 horsepower, and a torque of up to 495 and 500 Nm. The engine is more responsive and balanced than previous six-cylinder gasoline engines.

The new Ingenium engine incorporates a unique supercharging mechanism that provides immediate response supported by a double-scroll turbocharger with a variable valve control system that enhances engine power and facilitates internal combustion for maximum efficiency.

These performance improvement technologies, along with light hybrid electric power technology, enhance performance, reduce fuel consumption and reduce emissions. The 48V MHV 48V uses a small electric motor to collect lost power while the car is slowing and storing and then re-used to help the engine work more efficiently.

The new six-cylinder engine delivers 20% fuel consumption compared to the previous six-cylinder gasoline engines and provides a gasoline filter that reduces particle emissions by as much as 75%.
